The Storm Coast lies on the western-most edge of the Misty Continent, Xhaan. Named for the frequent storms which ravage the western coasts of Xhaan, it is a rugged and wild place of deep forests, marshlands, and jungles. Its shores are also dangerous places to sail, with its many rocky cliffs, sandbars, shoals, and coral reefs. Ruins of ancient temples dot the dense interior lands, and half-sunken ruins of cities line the coastline, speaking to the violent disasters which have befallen the natives of this land in the distant past.
Amidst this ravaged and wild land, dots of civilization, like beacons in the night have grown from settlers from across the Continent of Kingdoms come seeking new lands, freedom from the oppressions and ancient enmities of the old world, and a chance to find prosperity.
Most of these settlements are small, farming and trading with local native tribes for goods, but this is also a time of strife as these settlers come not to live in peace, but to expand and conquer this new land as well.
Porto Esperanza, or Port Hope, is the largest city on the Storm Coast, settled nearly 75 years ago by merchants and colonists from the City States of Ea. It is a hub of trade in this new land, shipping off riches plundered from this New World to fill the coffers of trade princes and nobles in the west.
On the northern edge of the Storm Coast lies the colonial town of Westcliffe. Settled primarily by men from the eastern coast of the Kingdom of Torland, it is known for its high bluffs overlooking rocky beaches lined with fishing wharfs.
Moorhollow is situated at the bend of the Tarfell River, which snakes through miles of nearly impenetrable swampland, nearly 60 miles northeast of the city of Porto Esperanza.
